Why we exist
One in five children growing up in poverty believe their life will amount to nothing.
Not because they lack ability, but because poverty places barriers on their education, wellbeing, and dreams.
They have talent, energy, and drive. What they lack is opportunity.

Our full-time coaches are embedded in high deprivation schools and communities, helping children stay in education, build confidence, and believe in their future.

What we do
We use sport and mentoring to unlock potential.
We embed evidence-based positive youth development programmes into primary and secondary schools. These programmes are delivered by our trusted, high-quality Coach-Mentors who deliver year round to ensure that young people have access to sport, mentoring, enrichment, and employability activities.
Beyond school, our Greenhouse Centre provides year-round sport, mentoring, and outreach for young people and the local community who need it most.

We often refer to our Team for Life
It’s a phrase that came from young people who’ve experienced Greenhouse Sports. During a brand workshop in 2023, they coined it, and it stuck. Now, it’s how we describe our entire community.
It captures exactly what Greenhouse is: a team that shows up, sticks around, and never gives up on you. Coach-Mentors. Donors. Partners. Support staff. Schools. Volunteers. And of course, young people.
It’s all of us united by one mission: to give every young person a fair chance at life. Some people join by donating. Some by coaching. Some by sharing time, skills, or platforms. However they show up, they join us on the journey because they believe in what we do.
So when we say join our Team for Life, we’re not talking about committing to a monthly gift forever – but standing behind what we believe. And once you’ve seen the power of what’s possible through Greenhouse, you don’t unsee it. You believe, carry it with you, tell others – and you back it however you can.
