From Monday 27 April 2026, the Greenhouse Centre will be open to the public again, after being shut for renovations for the last five years!

The building was originally a 17th-century church left empty. However, it was brought back to life in 2018 and transformed into a thriving community hub where people could play, belong, and believe in themselves. But in 2021, serious structural issues forced it to close.

After a long, highly anticipated wait, the heart of the community will be open again from Monday 27 April 2026, returning at a time it’s needed most. After years of youth service cutbacks, the Centre reopens in one of the most deprived wards in the country, serving a densely populated, diverse community as a vibrant hub for learning, wellbeing, and connection.

The Centre will be open to all and free to those that need it most. There will be a wide range of activities, sessions and ways to get involved. These include women’s-only yoga classes, fitness sessions for over-50s, a table tennis drop-in club, alongside brand-new community areas, a learning hub for the young people and an on-site counsellor, available a few days a week for those more difficult conversations.

Built on the same ethos as Greenhouse Sports’ wider programmes, Coach-Mentors will be present daily, delivering sport, mentoring, building life skills and supporting young people and the community to create brighter futures.

Stay posted on our website and our social channels for more updates on the full timetable, how to book in for sessions and much more!
