It was my parents always buying over-sized clothing so you could grow into it, to save money. And they were never around because they were working extra hard for us. It was not being able to go to after-school activities. It was like, now you’re restricted from even having fun…

The Greenhouse coaches gave me a platform and resources to help me come out of all of the negative things that poverty brings alongside with it. It prevented me from a specific mindset that most kids that grew up in my area had.”
