We have teamed up with the North Paddington Food Bank and the local community to reach more than 500 families in need, including 300 children, across Westminster in order to provide them with essential items to get through the winter months.
Last week, we joined forces with the local community and a food bank to create more than 700 Christmas hampers and deliver them to families in need.
In an initiative supported by People’s Postcode Lottery, Howard de Walden Estates and the Westminster Foundation, the Greenhouse coaches and a volunteer workforce have come together at the Greenhouse Centre to ensure families in need have essential items to get through the winter months.
The Christmas hampers are made up of a variety of essential foodstuffs and toiletries, such as pasta, cereal, crackers and long-life milk, toothbrushes, and shower gel. In addition, some hampers have dedicated Christmas boxes included with items such as chocolate coins, satsumas, and crayons and pencils. Whereas other hampers others were equipped with items to help guard against the cold weather such as hats, scarves, and gloves.
The initiative saw more than 50 volunteers dedicate their time to sorting the produce and packing hampers before delivering them to children and families in need around the Westminster community.
The pandemic and its economic consequences continue to impact so many in our community here in Westminster and we want to be doing everything we can to support local families during such a difficult time. We hope that by providing some of these essential items, we can make their festive periods a little brighter.

The volunteers also came from the local business community and the wide network of supporters of Greenhouse Sports, including The Baker Street Quarter Partnership, BlackRock Investment Management and JP Morgan.
In addition, to support from the People’s Postcode Lottery, Howard de Walden Estates and the Westminster Foundation, the donors included a number of local individuals, organisations, businesses and schools like Lush, Tesco, Madame Tussauds, Queens Park Community Council, Marylebone Mums, Philip Kinsley, Poten Partners, Troy Asset Management, Smart Pensions, Streathers Solicitors, M3S Consultancy and Shiseido Cosmetics, and Queensgate School, UCS School, and Atwood School.
