A safe place. A trusted adult. A reason to show up.
At Greenhouse Sports, impact starts with connection.

Whether it’s on the court, in the classroom, or at our Centre, we create spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and believed in.

In 2023–24, that meant 8,522 young people had someone in their corner – a consistent adult they could trust, rely on, and support their growth.

What does our impact look like?

  • A teenager who used to skip school now walks in with purpose – because they believe in their future.
  • A child who once lashed out now knows how to pause, breathe, and manage their emotions.
  • A young person who saw school as a place not for them, now looks forward to going in and playing table tennis, seeing their team, and chatting to coach.

Across our secondary and primary school programmes, and at the Greenhouse Centre, we see the same shift: More engagement. More resilience. More hope.

Our data shows young people are happier, do better at school, and build brighter futures

  • Attending up to 14 more days of school each year than their peers
  • Reporting a 77% improvement in mental wellbeing
  • Developing three or more essential life skills, from self-control to teamwork
  • Improving their behaviour – 58% in one year, compared to 38% of their peers

How we work

We focus where we’re needed most. In communities where opportunities are limited and potential often goes unnoticed, we design support that is intentional, relational, and proven to work.

Our work is designed for impact – and grounded in evidence

We draw on the latest international research in Positive Youth Development (PYD), youth sport, child development, and mental health. This foundation ensures that our approach doesn’t just feel right – it works.

Our model is led by Professor Camilla Knight, Director of Impact, Innovation and Engagement. A globally respected academic in youth sport psychology, Camilla brings deep expertise to our strategy – ensuring that everything we do is research-informed, youth-focused, and continually improving.

We collect data throughout the year from our young people, coaches, and schools – analysing what’s working and where we can do better. We share this insight with the wider sector, contributing to academic research and youth development practice across the UK and internationally.

A’isha’s Story

“I used to just sit on the side and watch people play games, I’d want to join them and have fun with them, but I knew I’d be in way too much pain…

I’m doing things now that I never thought I’d be able to do, and it’s because of coach Lulama.”
