About Us

At Greenhouse Sports, we believe every child deserves a fair chance to succeed.

Greenhouse Sports aims to develop life skills for young people in London’s most disadvantaged communities through outstanding, intensive sports programmes delivered by inspirational coaches. We use the power of sport to inspire and motivate young people so they can reach their full potential.

Our coaches work full time in mainstream secondary and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and community clubs to provide sport programmes across the capital that equip young people for life.

The Role

We are looking to recruit a qualified, skilled Basketball Head Coach to launch a brand new programme at Harris City Academy Crystal Palace. The role is school based and will include planning and delivering a comprehensive high-quality coaching and mentoring programme. Our programmes typically include a combination of breakfast, lunch and afterschool clubs, peripatetic (1:1 or small groups) sessions, supporting some curriculum lessons (where agreed with the school) and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players. You will also be required to deliver half term and holiday camps during the school holidays.

As a coach you will also work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of what we do and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes; case studies, questionnaires, skills and fitness testing. Our coaches also regularly review the young peoples’ progress and set targets for their future development.

Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and will maintain accurate records of all registered participants, staff and volunteers at all planned sessions.

The Person

To be considered for this role you must hold a Basketball England Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification as a minimum and have experience of successfully delivering and managing top quality basketball programmes for young people aged 11-19 years old in a school or club setting. You will also  demonstrate strong mentoring skills and experience, as well as being a confident and capable IT user with excellent administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme and capture all relevant data in a timely manner.

You will be highly passionate about the Greenhouse Sports mission, values and beliefs and helping young people learn and develop.

All Greenhouse employees are provided with comprehensive Continuous Professional Development support and are expected to commit fully to Greenhouse’s Safeguarding Children Policy.
