Due to Government restrictions on group activity and the local need for access to food, we have repurposed the Greenhouse Centre and transformed it into a foodbank to provide meals for those who need it the most. Numerous volunteers from Greenhouse Sports and The Felix Project have come together to help lessen the strain on those struggling to cope with the affects of Covid-19 on the local community.
The Independent and the Evening Standard have recently featured articles about Greenhouse’s activity during lockdown praising our coaches for their online sessions in addition to their work volunteering at the foodbank.
Over the weekend, popular musician Ellie Goulding stopped by and volunteered as part of the ‘Food For London Now’ campaign. She was actively involved in supporting staff to help those most in need, and even offered Coach Luca a lift back to the Greenhouse Centre in her car!
She also had this to say after seeing the Greenhouse Centre for the first time.
