Greenhouse Sports will be taking part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge – a week-long matched giving campaign with £50,000 of matched funding – which means all donations will be doubled until we reach £100,000.
The Christmas Challenge campaign is running from 12pm Tuesday 29th November to 12pm on Tuesday 6th December. Any donation made will go twice as far and have twice the impact for Greenhouse, and allow us to unlock the matched funding.
The cost of living crisis facing the UK will affect us all but especially so for children from the poorest backgrounds. Our Coaches see first-hand the effect it is already having on the young people we work with.
Our support is needed more than ever to mentor and sustains our young people in their education and development. A generation that is still recovering from the disruption of the pandemic and now faces the brunt of the crisis in living standards.
2022 marks 20 years of Greenhouse Sports and we are now working in more schools than ever before. We are working with headteachers and school leaders who can see the difference that Greenhouse Sports Coaches have on their students and schools through the power of sport.
This includes improved school attendance and attainment, better mental and physical health, and less antisocial behaviour. Children on our programmes on average attend 8 days more in school each year and achieve 40% better results in GCSE Maths and 30% better in English than their non-Greenhouse peers.Through this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge you can help support another generation of young people as we look ahead to the next 20 years of Greenhouse Sports.
