Trustee Michael Sherwood featured in Evening Standard for generous contribution

Michael Sherwood, one of Greenhouse Sports’ Trustees, was featured in London’s Evening Standard for his generosity in bringing our new community sport centre to life. The funds for the centre, given through Goldman Sachs’ Goldman Sachs Gives programme, helped Greenhouse Sports purchase a deconsecrated church on Cosway Street in Marylebone, which we will transform into a sport centre that will become a vital resource for the local community and over 50 full time Greenhouse Sports programmes.

In disadvantaged communities, many young people grow up without the skill set and self-belief to fulfil their potential. The more time our specialist coaches spend with participants, the more we can help them to develop key life skills, such as leadership, problem solving and self-discipline. Currently, our coaches work with limited access to the facilities they need to engage and inspire our participants, and when the Cosway Street building is complete, they will be able to work with our young people in the evenings and at weekends – times when many pupils are in need

of a nurturing environment in which to continue their development.
