Participant from Samuel Rhodes Secondary has football year to remember
The hard work and dedication of fifteen year-old Greenhouse Sports participant Tinashe paid off this year, as he was named Special School Athlete of the Year for the London Borough of Islington.
Tinashe is a young person with moderate learning difficulties who participates on the Greenhouse Sports programme at Samuel Rhodes Secondary. A dedicated football player, Tinashe was selected multiple times this year to represent Arsenal Football Club, playing on their youth disability team in a match against Norwich and in the London FA youth tournament. He also travelled with some team mates and his Greenhouse Sports Coach James to Switzerland and http://www.cialisgeneriquefr24.com/cialis-jakarta/ Liechtenstein to don Arsenal colours at a social inclusion festival and tournament. The festival featured representation from other teams from England and around the world such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
Greenhouse Sports’ programme at Samuel Rhodes works closely with Arsenal through after school and community clubs where Tinashe is a regular. James nominated him for Islington Special School Athlete of the Year for both his strong commitment to football and his positive attitude and, on 11 July, he was presented with the award.
“Tinashe is always happy and smiling, and very supportive of his peers and team mates, sharing with them the football whatever their ability or disability – a real team player,” said Coach James. “He has a great personality and is a role model to his peers – even to myself as his coach.”
