Sky Sports teams up with Greenhouse Sports and Woodfield School

In January, 12 lucky pupils from Woodfield School, Kingsbury were selected to be of the Sky Sports Living for Sport Sporting Ambassadors scheme. The project focuses on improving pupils physical, social, personal, cognitive and creative skills by supporting them in PE lessons, extra-curricular activities through school competitions and in the community with local sports clubs.

Greenhouse Sports Head Coach Dan O’Brien along with Sky Sports Living for Sport mentor and former Great Britain Boxer Hannah Beharry will continue to mentor pupils throughout the academic year, inspiring and motivating them to exceed in sport.

On Friday 10th April, the group travelled to Osterley Sky Sports HQ where they filmed their very own Sky Sports news story and took a tour of the facilities. The Pupils chosen topic was English (Mind, Body and Sport). Each pupil was given a role to play, including producer, director, editor, presenter, eyewitness, expert, camera operator and scriptwriter, with help from Sky Sports professionals.

Greenhouse Sport’s Dan O’Brien who leads on the project said: “This is the first year Woodfield have worked with Sky Sports Living for Sport, it is a powerful tool to inspire pupils to better themselves as a person and in sport. We aim to promote and stimulate lifelong participation in physical activity at pupils chosen level of participation.”

What a star-studded final cut! Great job team!
