Looking ahead to a new school year!
The summer holidays are nearly over and our popular summer holiday camps have come to an end. As the new intake of Year 7s at our partner schools across London prepare for their first taste of Greenhouse Sports programmes, we as an organisation continue to work to reach more young people and further develop our coaching techniques to enable us to improve more lives.
In 2015-16, we are launching a new, in-house developed coaching and impact evaluation tool that will enable us to better monitor and evaluate the Social Thinking Emotional and Physical (STEP) skills of our young people. The result of a three-year collaborative development process, our STEP Frameworks – one for mainstream schools and club participants, and one for our young people in Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools – focus on the twelve skills that we want to enhance in our participants.
Using the power of basketball, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, judo, football and multisports for SEN schools our coaches work to develop key life skills that will help our young people to succeed both in the classroom and on the playing field. Our focus on measuring our impact reflects the ultimate goal of Greenhouse Sports – to continue improving our coaching techniques in order to effectively develop well-rounded young people equipped with the skills required for happy, healthy, and independent lives.
