Hot competition at Greenhouse Sports Basketball Finals
Congratulations to the teams who where crowned top of their age group in the Greenhouse Sports Basketball Finals held at the spectacular basketball venue, The Regal in Lambeth. In total, 16 schools participated in the boys leagues and 12 in the girls league.
St Gabriel’s College took the win from Brampton Manor Academy in an exciting U13 Boys category final. Despite putting up a bravely performance, Brampton Manor had to settle for second place once again in the U13 Girls competition as Clapton Girls Academy took the glory. Harris Academy South Norwood came away with a decisive victory beating St Gabriel’s College in the U15 Boys final.
The participants all showed great drive and determination throughout the competition. The players called upon many of the STEP skills during the inter-school play-offs – socialising with other schools, working on their fitness, developing game strategy and experiencing the emotional highs and lows of competition.

Sports brand Nike created The Regal in 2012. The venue is an NBA-level permanent basketball court in Vauxhall and was opened by Chicago Bulls NBA legend Scottie Pippen and the UK Bulls star, Luol Deng. The Regal aims to encourage basketball players from an elite level through to grass roots, and local schools and community clubs to take up the sport and become ‘ballers’. Thanks to The Regal for hosting! Well done to all the teams!
