Greenhouse Sports chosen as charity of the year by Lord Mayor of Westminster
Councillor Steve Summers, newly elected into the ceremonial role of the Lord Mayor of Westminster, has named Greenhouse Sports as his chosen charity of the year.
Greenhouse Sports basketball coach Jerome Jack, from Westminster-based school Quintin Kynaston (QK), and some of his students were invited to attend the recent Mayor Making Ceremony as special guests, where this honour was made official. After the ceremony, our young people had the opportunity to speak to the new Lord Mayor and Coach Jack said they were outstanding ambassadors to both their school and Greenhouse Sports.
Greenhouse Sports moved into a deconsecrated church in Westminster last autumn with plans to develop the building into a thriving local sport centre for young people who would not otherwise have access to top level facilities and coaching. We look forward to working with the Lord Mayor of Westminster over the next year as we grow into our role in the community.
