Highlighting our volunteers for Volunteers Week 2016
As Volunteers Week continues, Greenhouse Sports is highlighting a few of the dedicated volunteers who help ensure our outstanding sport programmes run smoothly. Over the past year, 91 people have volunteered in coaching or admin capacities for a total of over 2800 hours.
Here, we highlight Steve A.: a volunteer
with Greenhouse Sports Football Club’s Men’s First Team.
Steve A. began volunteering last season at Greenhouse Sports Football Club and this season, he took on the ever important role of match day and registration secretary for the First Team. He also managed all home match support (hospitality, ground safety and ad hoc admin) for the club for the duration of the season.
The First Team had a very busy and successful season and Steve attended all matches (which included significant travel) and was always willing to support the coaching staff and players in any capacity necessary.
When asked about Steve’s contribution to the club, First Team Manager Hamza Serrar said: “Steve is one of the most professional people that I have ever worked with. His support, commitment and punctuality were exceptional and he communicates really well with the players and the staff.”
Thanks goes to Steve and all our volunteers, who contribute to Greenhouse Sports’ programmes and the realisation of our vision that all children should have a fair chance to succeed.
