Greenhouse Sports Success at Table Tennis London Zone Finals

The hard work and dedication of our table tennis programmes from Burlington Danes Academy, Harefield Academy and Ernest Bevin College has paid off as they each secured wins at the London Table Tennis Zone Finals on 15 January.

Ernest Bevin coach Renan Wiest called the victories “outstanding”, and said, “We definitely started the year on the right foot.”

In an incredible result, Harefield Academy and Burlington Danes Academy were both double winners, with the Harefield U19 Boys and U19 Girls and the Burlington Danes U16 Girls and U13 Girls coming out on top. The U19 Girls team at Morpeth School also took silver in their match against fellow Greenhouse Sports programme Eastbury Comprehensive.

Greenhouse Sports’ success at the Zone Finals is a testament to the commitment of the young people and the excellence of our coaches. The players also had the chance to meet the Paralympic medallist table tennis player Aaron McKibbin, who, when he is not practicing his sport, is devoted to inspiring young people to play table tennis. The winners will now have the chance to compete at the Regional Finals in Bournemouth and Bristol held in early March, with places at stake at the National Finals.
