Senior Management Team
John Herriman – Chief Executive Officer
John is passionate about the power of grassroots sport and coaching to enable young people to reach their full potential. A strong believer in social equality, he has been a keen supporter of youth engagement and development in the local community, as well as the role of volunteering, during a varied and exciting career in the public and private sectors. John also spent formative years in the Royal Navy that taught him the value of an active lifestyle, the power of coaching, and the importance of team work: all skills that sports can help to develop in young people.
Nigel Wright – Chief Financial Officer
A qualified accountant who worked in the City for 25 years, Nigel initially volunteered as a mentor for Greenhouse Sports managers, before leaving his City job to take on his current role of Chief Financial Officer. At various points in his tenure, Nigel has managed different areas of Greenhouse Sports, including IT, Impact, and Programmes so he has a unique understanding of the organisation as a whole. He is an avid sportsman, playing tennis and golf and, in his spare time, he puts his musical talents to good use as a keyboard player in a band.
Jason Bacon – Director of Programmes
Jason leads the programme area made up of our programme management team, inspirational coaches and operational support. Prior to joining Greenhouse Sports, Jason was involved in various social enterprises in South London including ‘Regenerate’, which provides opportunities for personal development and employability for young people in the Roehampton community. He also co-founded the ‘Barnes Rugby Opportunity’, an initiative at Barnes RFC that funds and supports young people at local schools through the mini and youth sections of the club. Jason played competitive water polo at school and University but his sporting endeavours now mainly involve running and cycling challenges.
