Events Assistant (3 month contract)

Responsible to: Head of Events
Location: London Office
Salary: £20,000 per annum pro-rata (depending on skills and experience)
Contract: Fixed term for three months
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Holidays: 20 days per year + 8 public / Bank Holidays (pro-rata)

Greenhouse Sports (GS) is a leading London based charity that is committed to using sport to help young people living in inner city London to realise their full potential.

GS coaches work full time in schools to provide outstanding sports programmes that develop social, thinking, emotional and physical skills that are designed to improve the life-chances of young people. Every programme is tailored to ensure it complements the needs of young people, the school and the community.

In addition, our experienced and inspirational coaches provide mentoring support to young people to aid their development.

The Role 

We have a great opportunity for an Events Assistant to assist the Head of Events with the planning and delivery of upcoming Events from pre-event preparation through to post-event analysis and evaluation.

The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for event enquiries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders ensuring everyone is adequately briefed, managing event guest lists, researching and contacting suppliers, processing all event income and ensuring all donors are thanked. The Events Assistant will also assist with event marketing and communications and carry out general administrative duties as required.

The Person

With some experience of events planning, ideally within the charity sector, candidates will demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to multi-task administration tasks and prioritise effectively. Candidates will also be degree educated (or equivalent) with good working knowledge of social media.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build good relationships is also vital as well as being able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

Please note that our offices are relocating from Trafalgar Square to Southwark in May 2017.

This position is for an immediate start and candidates must be available on the dates below.
