Location: Platanos College, Stockwell + 1 other South London school
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (will include evenings and weekends)

Greenhouse Sports aims to develop life skills for young people in London’s most disadvantaged communities through outstanding, intensive sports programmes delivered by inspirational coaches. We use the power of sport to inspire and motivate young people so they can reach their full potential.
Our coaches work full time in mainstream secondary and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools as well as community clubs to provide sport programmes across the capital that equip young people for life.
We are looking to recruit two qualified, skilled Basketball Head Coaches to join our programmes at Platonos College and one other school. Each role will include planning and delivering a comprehensive high-quality coaching and mentoring programme, which will include working alongside the PE department. You will plan and deliver breakfast, lunch and afterschool clubs, peripatetic (1:1 or small groups) sessions, supporting some curriculum lessons (where agreed with the school) and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players. You will also be required to deliver half term and holiday camps during the school holidays.
As a coach you will also work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of what we do and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes; case studies, questionnaires, skills and fitness testing. Our coaches also review the young peoples’ progress and set targets for their future development.
Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and will maintain accurate records of all registered participants, staff and volunteers at all planned sessions.
To be considered for these roles you must hold, as a minimum, Basketball England level 2 (or equivalent) qualification and have experience of successfully delivering and managing high quality basketball programmes for young people aged 11 to 19 in a school or club setting. You will demonstrate strong mentoring skills, as well as being a confident and capable IT user and will demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme and capture all relevant data in a timely manner.
